Mental Health Systems (MHS) is a non-profit organization founded in 1978 to provide innovative and cost-effective mental health and drug and alcohol recovery services. Our agency was established to improve people’s lives and instill hope by using new and creative treatment strategies that respect time-proven methods of intervention.
Harmony is a gender responsive, non-residential treatment and recovery center dedicated to helping women through the challenges of recovery from alcohol and drug addiction. The program provides an array of substance abuse treatment and education services, as well as classes to develop and strengthen skills related to healthy parenting, relationships, and self-sufficiency. Our Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI) mental health component targets those women, children, and mothers who aren’t receiving therapeutic services elsewhere. These mental health counseling services encompass a client-centered approach and provide therapeutic support to family members, as well.
Harmony gender specific treatment and recovery services include: Assessment and Evaluations; Treatment groups; Individual counseling; Care coordination; Crisis counseling; Life planning skills; Self-esteem workshops; Anger management; Parenting classes; Domestic violence; Prevention and early intervention; Mental health counseling; HIV testing and counseling; Relapse prevention; Community involvement; Monthly mobile medical unit; Developmental services (for children 5 and under); We also offer daytime and evening treatment groups, support groups and 12 step meetings.
